Phoenix, New York –– SAM (Sungan Machinery Co., Ltd.),
the leading technology supplier of printing, coating, laminating, and
converting machinery, announces continued expansion of their laboratories for
customer product development. The latest installment is Asia’s most
advanced coating and laminating line for solution based coating and will be the
featured at SAM’s
exhibit (Hall 4 / B15) during the K-Show held in Dusseldorf, Germany from
October 19 – 26,
2016.
Recently opened in April 2016 near Seoul, South Korea, SAM’s
Research & Development complex is home to SAM’s Solution Coating Lab which
offers a pilot scale production line with full production like capabilities for
testing and evaluating new coatings, structures, or custom product concepts.
Using SAM’s uniquely
designed cartridge coater, over 28 coating application methods are available at
speeds up to 600 mpm. The unique dryer arrangement allows operation of the 22
meter tunnel in flotation or roll support mode. Corona pre-treatment, UV cure,
unwinds for wet bond and dry bond lamination make SAM the most versatile
location to come for new product development.
SAM’s Research & Development Center is also the new home to SAM Printed Electronics Lab (SPEL) which was founded in 2007. For customers exploring innovations with roll to roll printing for conductive inks on flexible webs, SAM offers capabilities including flatbed rotary screen, rotary screen, slot die, and Xenon™ Flash Lamp Cure. Whether OLED, RFID, NFC, or FPCB, SPEL offers experience and capabilities to develop your next generation technology.
SAM North America, located near Syracuse, New York USA, offers an extrusion coating, laminating, and cast film pilot line laboratory. The facility presents complete capabilities for co-extrusion and laminating of up to 14 extrusion layers with Nordson EDI’s Layer Multiplier Technology™ with in-line pre-treatment by corona, flame, ozone, or water based chemical priming. SAM’s Extrusion Coating Lab offers functionality not available in any other single laboratory location.
